Just to let everyone out there know that Brett Kelley will not actually be the one to post messages to this blog. He will be communicating through museum staff, interns and with the help of Hershey High School students. We didn’t want anyone to think he’s out in his winter quarters blogging on a laptop with an extremely long extension cord. He’s trying to keep this as authentic as possible.
For today, no one could even get to him to collect his journal, take photos or video as a result of the nearly 2 feet of snow the Harrisburg area received! The Museum was closed and Reservoir Park wasn’t plowed; however, Brett was at the top of the hill on picket duty! Rest assured, we will be collecting this information tomorrow and we hope to find Brett doing ok.

I just stopped by –He is out there in 2 ft of snow. Pretty cool stuff!!! If you are within 50 miles it is worth a trip to see this!
Will be coming up to check out encampment. Luckily, I can get into my post-Civil War vehicle and drive to my nice, warm house.
Good luck, Brett!
